Client: A leader in the life science industry, providing multi-disciplinary scientific expertise and a broad portfolio of leading edge technologies, tools and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. They work side by side with their customers to develop personalized solutions to complex problems, assuring scientific success now and in the future.

Situation: The client required a new test stand built for testing a specific filter produced at their facility. They needed a vast amount of filters tested (12 at a time) and each test to be recorded. The client requested data points at adjustable amounts of time and certain rules to be applied to specific parts of each test. ARC provided them with the hardware and software necessary for automating the acquisition, analysis, and recording of all data. The software provided robust mathematical corrections for various sensors attached to the stand. ARC was able to provide a full hardware and software automated test solution.

Solution: Over the course of approximately two weeks, engineers at ARC communicated directly with the prime project manager very closely throughout the process, which led to a detailed view of exactly what the project needed to accomplish. This system is the standard specification gathering process for ARC engineers; it quite often will uncover and solve additional aspects of the project that need consideration. The hardware and software engineers at ARC worked together to find the proper hardware for the solution. After hardware was selected, a custom application was developed to meet the specific needs as outlined by the generated specifications.

The Integration was completed at ARC’s facility. Our engineers were able to obtain the unit and all necessary hardware to dry-run the equipment, allowing for a seamless integration. ARC permitted minimal software changes during integration per request of the client. The user was pleased that ARC was able to modify the software during integration to meet their needs, even though the changes were against the original specifications. The project fell completely into the scope of what the client had requested. ARC was able to provide a few additional features to the client and still deliver the project in a timely manner.
